What is EPDM Rubber Injection Molding

EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer) is a synthetic rubber with outstanding resistant to weather, heat, ozone, and chemicals. EPDM injection molding involves injecting heated EPDM rubber compound into a mold cavity under high pressure. The EPDM is then vulcanized (cured) within the mold, solidifying into the desired shape. This method is particularly well-suited for producing intricate rubber parts with consistent quality and high volume.

Advantages of EPDM Injection Molding

  • Excellent Weather & UV Resistance – EPDM maintains its properties even after 10+ years of outdoor exposure, making it a common use for automotive and construction applications.
  • Wide Temperature Range – EPDM can withstands temperatures from -50°C to 150°C, it can maintain its properties in extreme cold and stability in high heat.
  • Good Electrical Insulation Properties – Provides reliable dielectric strength, making it suitable for electrical and HVAC sealing applications.
  • Low Water Absorption – EPDM absorbs less than 1% moisture, preventing degradation in damp environments and ensuring durability in outdoor applications.
